We traveled to Watauga and Coach David Peeler's team. Our #7 played well but lost in a tie breaker 8-10. We had strong showings at 2, 3, 4 and 5 to come away with a 6-3 win. Our #1 dbls. played well and won their match with great communication and strategy. We hope to make this match up a regular non-conference match.

Well, we met our match when visiting 4A South Caldwell. It was a pretty tight match, but South Caldwell took it 5-2. I am proud of how the team held up for such a challenging match. It gave us a wake-up call and this early, with it being a non-conference, we will take that.
Keep South Caldwell on the 4A poll. They are a force to be reckoned with and should have an outstanding season.

This season, we're excited to welcome back several key players whose leadership, and experience will drive our team towards a remarkable year. Seniors Josh Bachik and Julian Monzavifar, who played doubles in last year's 1A state tournament, helped carry us through a very successful run in dual team action. Senior Sam Evansalso returns to provide important leaddership, while, while new additions Rishik Kandru, Anish Battineni, Andy Quach, Nash Taylor and others are eager to make their mark in the green and white! This dynamic blend of youth, athleticism and experience is sure to put the Dragons in a strong position for conference championship accolades and beyond!
We had our first non-conference match against 3A Hibriten in Lenoir and came away with a solid win. We will play South Caldwell and Thomas Jefferson out of Rutherford County. After that, we will begin our conference play verses Madison on March 5th.

NCSSM-Morganton Women’s Tennis 24
The second season in the Western Highlands 1A/2A is looking very promising. Although we lose almost two weeks of no practice before school starts the Lady Dragons have come on to the courts with good enthusiasm and high goals. We have a core of our top 3 as seniors as well as our number 6. They are joined by two juniors at line 4 and 5 who are making waves with their play. We have depth, but it always depends on who is actually going to show up for the competition (academics, etc. first and foremost). We are led by Manya Nallagangu from Cary, who was the runner up in the state singles last fall. We also have the dbls. team of Will Levine, Asheville and Ananya Sriram, Concord who made it to the states last year. We have at least 3 ladies vying for the number 6 position. We had several top 4-5 current seniors that opted to focus on their academics and mentorships this year.
