Greetings!
You've reached the new website, currently under development, for the NC High School Tennis Coaches Association.
While we do not yet have all the content we hope to have, the membership registration process is now live, and coaches can "officially" join the NCHSTCA by clicking on the "Join NCHSTCA" tab and following the prompts.
Dues, as adopted by the Board of Directors at its June 2023 meeting, are as follows:
- One-year membership - $10.00
- Three-year membership - $25.00
- Lifetime membership - $100.00
All dues payments are handled via credit or debit card, online, via the Stripe payment processing system.
Once you join, officially, you'll get access to coaching resources and news about NCHSTCA business, plus tools to comment on articles shown on the website, to submit articles of your own, and to vote in our state polls. The extra articles under "Coaching Resources" are not yet fully fleshed out, but they're coming as fast as we can generate them.
So, we encourage you to join the NC High School Tennis Coaches Association, and once you do, submit an article about your team, or a coaching resource you think other coaches would benefit from. We really intend for this website to be a collaboration of the coaching community, with content generated by coaches from all across the state.
And, by all means, once you join, complete the 2023 New Member Survey, found under the "For Members Only" tab.
Join us in making high school tennis stronger and better for students and coaches alike.
See you on the courts.

In the light of the passage of SB452, NCHSAA staff decided not to change the process for distributing regional berths for the Fall 2023 girls tennis individual tournament in singles and doubles.
NCHSTCA’s Board of Directors had recommended a change to that process that would more fairly distribute regional berths among the conferences, and at our summer meeting with NCHSAA staff, it was agreed to implement that change for the fall season. At the time, NCHSAA staff believed it had the authority to implement the change administratively.
Believing that the change would take place, we posted on our website a detailed step-by-step explanation of how regional berths would be distributed amongst the conferences.
NCHSAA staff agree that the NCHSTCA proposal is an improvement to the process, and will result in greater fairness regarding the distribution of regional berths.

The NCHSAA, in conjunction with MaxPreps, has published its midseason calculation of the RPI ratings for women's tennis.
Midseason ratings are subject to change, as many schools' ratings are based on just a handful of matches. However, end of season ratings will be used to determine playoff selection and seeding.
RPI ratings are a combination of a team's winning percentage, their opponents' winning percentage, and their opponents' opponents' winning percentage. The ratings are updated daily, based on match results posted by the schools on MaxPreps.
The ratings are divided by classification and region. To access the complete ratings, go to the Women's Tennis page on the NCHSAA website.

The USTA is working with ClubSpark, developers of the Serve Tennis platform, to create a digital product to support high school tennis. The product under development is a variation of the platform currently in use in college tennis matches played under the auspices of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), which governs tennis in all three NCAA divisions.
