Currituck opened its 2026 campaign with a split, winning Tuesday at Edenton Holmes, and losing on Thursday at Fike, by identical 6-3 scores.
The Lady Knights return Shiloh Willingham, the 2024 regional champion and 2025 regional runnerup. Willingham is unbeaten in regular season play.
Joining her is junior Gabrielle Rock, who went 12-1 at No. 2 singles, and advanced to the second round of the regional tournament before losing to the eventual champion.
Last year's #3 and #4, Lauren Lilley and Adriana Delano also return, along with senior Shea Muzbeck. Three promising freshmen, Adarra Fox, Kelsie Isbell, and Lindsay Newbern add depth to the lineup. Newcomers London Radford, Kymora Cosme-Caban, and Calin Gagnon round out the roster.
Currituck travels to Washington on Monday, and then, on Thursday, hosts Perquimans, which is fielding a team for the very first time.

NCSSSM-Morganton enjoyed a dream 2025 season, going 11-0 overall, winning a third straight league regular season title, and following that up with regional and team state championships, plus placing all of its six ladder players in the semifinal round or beyond at the individual state championships.
But, NCSSM-M probably isn't going anywhere. The Lady Dragons could return as many as 10 of their 13 total players from 2025, led by Leah Gibson, whose singles win gave the team the clinching point in a dominant 5-0 dual team title match victory and was part of the 1A state doubles title individually.
NCSSM-M could welcome back Shrika Chatta, MVP of the dual-team state title match and Anjana Ramanujam, the team's sportmanship award winner at state, as well as: Harshika Chenchu, Karalyn King, Anamika Hareesh, Shreshta Vemula, Iniouluwa Obedunmi, Niharika Pathipati, and Anvi Deepak.
NCSSM-M does not begin practice until Aug. 19th. Updates will be available.
