This is an update on the Northeastern Coastal Conference 2A/3A at this point of the season.
2A- Holmes (4-0) (1-0 NCC) Holmes Returns all its startrs from last years 3rd round team. Two new top 6 players have knocked out last spring's starters and added a lot of depth to a strong Holmes team. Coach Spear will have a loaded team heading into the next few weeks. They are led by three seniors at the front of thier lineup, including State Qualifier Trent Spear.
3A- First Flight (1-1) (1-0, NCC) First Flight returns the dynamic top pair of Anthony Vucinovic and James Woerner. These two were State semi-finalists last year. After that, Coach Vucinovic returns one starter and then has three brand new faces to wind up his top six. They will have a solid team and be very good at the top of their lineup.
2A- Northeastern (3-2) (0-1, NCC) Northeastern returns four starters from last year. Led by State Qualifier James Hornthal, the Eagles will look to build on early momentum this year. With wins over Martin County and two young programs in Rosewood and East Carteret, the Eagles hope to build to a strong season chasing after Holmes for the top of the 2A lineup in the conference.
2A- Manteo (1-1) (0-1, NCC) Manteo returns four starters this year, and adds lots of young players they hope to build upon. Let by Regional Qualifiers Sam Cage and Jack Gregory, the Redskins hope that their youth can grow this year and help to develop tennis success for several years to come.
3A- Currituck (0-1) (0-0, NCC) Currituck is building its young core this year. Having a tough defeat against Martin County in the first week of the year, Coach Ramsey has been working hard to build his young top six and get them ready fro a tough conference line up. The Knights look to build experience and success over the next few weeks.
