The distribution of regional berths has been published by the NCHSAA.

This year's distribution was done using a formula slightly different from years past. Instead of defining a "berth" as one singles and one doubles, such that a conference receiving four "berths" would get four entries in singles AND four entries in doubles, this year's formula defines a "berth" as an entry in singles OR doubles, such that four "berths" means two singles entries and two doubles entries.

This allows us to more closely align the number of berths with the proportion of teams a given conference has within its region. For instance, if two conferences with the same number of teams are "competing" for a single remaining berth, one team will be given the singles berth and the other team will get the doubles berth.

The minimum "floor" for a conference remains one singles and one doubles entry. This is primarily the case when there's only one team of a given classification in its conference.

Regional tournaments are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, October 18-19, at various locations across the state. That information is also found on the region berth distribution document.

Entries to the regional tournaments are to be submitted by conference presidents or their designees to Caitlin McMannen at the NCHSAA offices by 3:00pm on Monday, October 14th.
