As part of the new realignment, the NCHSAA adopted a provision that the state individual tournaments will be conducted as three-round, 8-entry brackets. This means that only two players (or doubles teams) will advance from each regional to the state tournaments.
The NCHSAA also announced that our four traditional sites will be used for the state tournaments, with two classifications at each tournament site.
- 1A/2A - Cary Tennis Park
- 3A/4A - Ting Park in Holly Springs
- 5A/6A - Burlington Tennis Center
- 7A/8A - Millbrook Exchange Park
Another change coming in the fall of 2025 is the adoption of the USTA High School Digital Platform (aka Serve Tennis) as the management tool for the state individual tournaments.
Serve Tennis offers an online tournament website, allowing tournament directors to post schedules, brackets, scores, and other information online, which, in turn, allows coaches, players, parents, and the general public to get tournament information promptly.
For coaches, this change means that, if you have a player or doubles team which advances to the state tournament, you must have "claimed" your school on the USTA High School Digital Platform, and you must have those players entered on your team roster. Each player will need a USTA account in order to be placed on the roster.
We recommend, as a "best practice", that coaches begin this process now, by submitting a request for an invite to claim one's school. We've developed a Google form for you to use to request your invite. You'll receive a response via email with a link to claim your school.
Once you've claimed your school, you can add players to your roster, and, if you desire, load your matches into the platform's schedule tab.
Then, at tournament time, it's a simple matter for the tournament director to enter your player(s) into the tournament from your team roster.
If you have not already claimed your school, we encourage you to use the link above and begin the process as soon as possible.
